May grace and peace be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Native south Floridians, Suzanne and I came to Elizabethtown from northern Kentucky in spring of 1987 never thinking we would serve at Immanuel and in this community for as long as we have. Suzanne has worked at the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College for more than twenty years serving as an English professor and now as Director of the Faculty Advising Center. We raised our three sons here and can think of no better place for families to live than in this area.
My name is Scott Wiggins and I have served here at Immanuel Baptist for over 25 years. I was the Youth Pastor for many years and now I serve as Minister of Education and Worship. We have a blended style of worship where we sing some of the older hymns many of us grew up with and also a lot of the newer more contemporary songs we hear on Christian radio.
I am a South Carolina native with two incredible teenage sons that are both very talented and I am blessed beyond belief. I struggle alongside many of you as we attempt to raise Godly children in an increasingly challenging culture. It’s a tough responsibility but one we must not grow weary in doing. My life passage is Habakkuk 3:17-19 “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of the deer, he enables me to go on the heights.”
I came to Immanuel in 2008 because of our young adult ministry. I later joined the church and in 2016 I was called to be the Student Minister. I work with students from Pre-K to College. I am currently pursuing a Master of Theology degree from Campbellsville University. Jess and I are very blessed to be able to serve Immanuel and this community.
